Our 9 Key Design Principles allow us to consider all the fundamental elements that a successful play space should contain.

 

 Physical-Activity

Fundamental Movement Patterns / Developing Skills. eg... Climbing, jumping, balance, coordination, agility, catching, throwing.

 

challenge

Different levels of difficulty, spaces of different sizes, opportunities to be in and out of control.

 

enjoyment

Fundamental to motivation and key to quality learning experiences within a diverse range of opportunity.

 

imaginative

  Allows the opportunity to express creativity and exercise imagination.

 

inclusion

 Inclusion focusses around social interaction, sharing, learning and working together.

 

intellectual

Exploration, discovery, puzzle, shape recognition, numeracy, literacy, links to aspects of the curriculum.

 

leadership

Assists and encourages training of young leaders . Promotes inclusion, problem solving, group work, team building.

 

nature-and-environment

Providing the opportunity to connect with nature i.e. Re-shaping areas, sensory areas, themed environments, building dens.

 

sensory
