MADE Area - Playground Markings

ESP CPD for secondary teachers consists of two training modules delivered on the Multi-Activity Development Environment (MADE). The MADE has been specifically designed to challenge movement patterns in terms of Stability, Object control and Locomotion and is currently being monitored and evaluated as part of a national research programme. The two training modules that we deliver on the MADE are the Multi-skills Training Award (Level 3) which is a continuation of Levels 1 & 2 delivered to Primary school teachers and has a curricular focus to support the delivery of the new Key Stage 3 curriculum. The other training module available is the Multi-Sport Training Award (Level 1) that considers the transition of multi-skills into a sport-specific domain using a range of games.

Multi-skills Training Award (Level 3)

• Understand the key ingredients of effective Multi-skills activities in Key stage 3
• Understand the types of abilities we have in PE
• Be able to develop practical ideas using the MADE
• Understand the relationship between Multi-skills, Multi-abilities and the Key Stage 3 NCPE
• Be able to identify the key people who can make this approach work 

Multi-sports Award (Level 1)

• Understand the appliction of movement phrases within a Multi-sports environment
• Understand the key principles of high quality movement and interactive skills within a Multi-sports environment
• Create Multi-sports activities using the MADE that develop a wide range of interactive skills
• Consider the relationship between Multi-sports activities and the Key Stage 3 NCPE
• Identify the key people who can make this approach work
