The huge success of
Multi-skills zones across the country has opened doors to new opportunities for ESP in delivering sustainable impact on the quality of movement opportunities for children through the use of
playground markings. One example of this is our new partnership with The Rugby Super League club
Leeds Rhinos, recently launched at the Headingley Carnegie Stadium in Leeds. Headteachers, Partnership Development Managers, Coaches and parents attended the launch that outlined the scheme and provided a practical demonstration of movement development on the recently installed multi-skills
playground markings zone at the stadium.
The scheme involves the installation of 5
playground markings to create a
Multi-skills zone in a school playground that is followed by nationally accredited training for Primary school teachers. The training is designed to maximise the impact of the
playground markings on children’s movement and physical activity levels. This impact is further sustained through visits by
Leeds Rhinos Community coaching staff to deliver their sessions on the
playground markings as part of their community delivery programme.
Year 5 children from Raynville Primary School and Christ the King Catholic Primary School, attending a programme of activities at the
Leeds Rhinos Playing for Success Learning Centre, took part in a fun-filled session lead by ESP’s ex-England Rugby player Scott Benton. For more information on our multi-skill
playground markings and training modules, please visit our
